G’day I’m Nic,

I work on all sorts of things, but mainly I split my time between
Industrial Design practice and teaching. I’m particularly focused
on real manufacturing skills and sustainable design practice.
If you’d like to talk, get in touch.

Industrial Design

I work as a freelance Industrial Designer. I’m particularly committed to sustainable, ethical and local design and manufacturing, though local is often hard.

Teaching and writing

I currently teach young Industrial Designers locally. My goal is to provide online training resources for the same kind of valuable skills.

Experience, awards and work

Early Years

My first job in design was with Formzoo Design, developing valuable skills in CAD, materials, manufacturing, product development, project management and compulsive lining up of screws.

Good Design Awards

The first big Industrial Design project that I led and managed won a Gold Australian Good Design award in 2019. It’s now a force for learning and growth in STEM classes in schools all around Australia.

Teaching

I’m passionate about teaching the next generation of Industrial Designers. I believe we’ve got the skills to make the world a better place and to give our economies a sustainable, strong future. I teach in-person and online.

Industrial Design

I’m available for Industrial Design freelancing and I’m always interested in hearing about new work. I’m committed to sustainable and ethical design and manufacture. We have a responsibility to care for our world.

Graphic Design and Illustration

I work as an Industrial Designer, but often end up in illustration and branding too.
